Frost Electroplating Limited Contact Frost Electroplating
Frost Electroplating offer a comprehensive subcontract electroplating service to customers in the UK and Europe. Finishes include Gold, Silver, Tin, Copper, Nickel and Electroless Nickel.
The selection of the best plating processes and techniques for each project is fundamental to Frost's approach. The company offers a wide choice to meet the vast majority of its customers' plating requirements.
Extensive use of information technology produces a highly flexible and responsive service. Large library and knowledge of product and plating specifications retained in-house.
Electroplating Methods
All three electroplating techniques - barrel, reel-to-reel and rack are offered by Frost. Barrel is ideal for the electroplating of small parts in quantity. Reel-to-reel is suitable for all-over or selective electroplating of pre- and post-press strip material with coil weights up to 500Kg. Rack plating is used for large or delicate parts which cannot be barrel plated.
Electroplating Finishes
The choice of finish depends on the performance, protective or decorative needs specified by the customer. Solderability and conductivity are two key performance requirements which can be achieved by gold, palladium, silver and tin finishes. Corrosion protection is usually provided by nickel or electroless nickel. All finishes need to be aesthetically pleasing.

Anodising services for areospace and other applications.
A recently commissioned plant allows Frost to offer a sophisticated range of anodised finishes to their customers. This department services aerospace, precision engineers, defence, microwave and satellite specifications.
Quality Services
Our quality systems are fully approved and operated in accordance with BS EN ISO 9002 and AS9100 with modern testing facilities including XRF and AAS. The emphasis of these quality standards is on controlling the manufacturing process - if the process is right, the product will be right and includes the internal auditing of key inputs and outputs, resulting in consistent product quality and better service to the customer.
A Legacy of Electroplating Excellence
For more than 100 years the name N.T.Frost has been synonymous with electroplating of the highest standards and quality. Originally formed to meet the needs of Birmingham's many industries, Frost Electroplating is now the leading independent plater in the United Kingdom.
The company has grown dramatically by providing a specialist electroplating service that meets the rigorous demands of customers throughout Europe.
Frost Electoplating is widely acknowledged as the leader in its field and has come to be regarded as a true specialist. As a result, they can work closely with its customers to produce components required by the end-user, or the end products themselves.
The partnership philosophy allows each company that is involved in a project to play its full and most effective role in the production process. Furthermore, because it calls for all organisations that are involved to focus on their own specialisation, it is a principle that enables all the advantages of electroplating to be fully applied - to the benefit of all concerned. Frost Electroplating have invested in continuous improvements, delivering results for customers & the environment, for over a decade and achieving AS9100. Computer control of production processes with CPC ensures customer satisfaction, reduced waste & environmental impact. Investment in XRF & AAS testing facilities and computer quality records management support their reports services. |
Competence transfer:
|
|
Frost Electroplating has changed processes to ensure RoHS & ELV compliance, reducing the impact on the environment and costs. New Electroless Nickel plating lines address the corrosion resistance requirements of the oil and petrochemical industries and has now found a niche in the electrical / electronics and general engineering industries. Frost's expertise and highest quality processes and approvals has allowed them to meet the growing demands of the Medical industry. |
Key processes:
|
|
Key Process: Plating inc. electroplating & electroless plating Continuous electroplating of electrical, electronic and automotive parts using 6 x reel to reel electro-plating lines.
Frost have been reel to reel plating for decades but recent investments have seen plating rates of up to five times faster with better plating control and reduced water loss. (Mastery: Mature, Time In Operation: 30.00 years)
Key Process: Plating inc. electroplating & electroless plating Electroplating of parts with gold, silver, nickel, copper, dull and bright tin using:
8 x barrel plating lines (Mastery: Mature, Time In Operation: 70.00 years)
Key Process: Plating inc. electroplating & electroless plating Frost Electroplating has invested in a new automatic programmable line for barrel Electroless Nickel plating of small components. Electroless nickel plate is a growing market. Initially geared to the oil and petrochemical industries as a corrosion resisting finish, it has now found a niche in the electrical / electronics and general engineering industries. Most plating plants for Electroless Nickel are set up for relatively low volumes of large parts. Frost's investment is for high volumes of small parts. If you have a requirement of this type then we can help you. (Mastery: Mature, Time In Operation: 2.00 years)
Key Process: Plating inc. electroplating & electroless plating Electroplating of objects that are too heavy, too large, or too complicated to barrel plate using; 2 x rack plating lines.
Rack plating is also suitable for partially plating parts. (Mastery: Mature, Time In Operation: 100.00 years)
Key Process: Measuring,Quality Control Analysis and testing of plating using; 2 x XRF, X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometry, machines (Mastery: Mature, Time In Operation: 30.00 years)
Key Process: Measuring,Quality Control Solutions analysis of plating chemicals using; - Atomic absorption spectrometer (AAS) - Titration wet lab. (Mastery: Mature, Time In Operation: 30.00 years)
Key Process: Measuring,Quality Control Solderability and solder testing for lead free solders and corrosion testing chambers and ovens. (Mastery: Mature, Time In Operation: 30.00 years)
Key Process: Data Collection,Quality Control ISO9001:2000 and ISO/TS16949 quality and materials records storage using; Computerized quality records management system. (Mastery: Mature, Time In Operation: 5.00 years)
